School in the communityDecember 2011 – The Trajectum College, a modern multi-cultural school in Utrecht-Overvecht, moved into its new premises in late August. Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard has hot-dip galvanised the steel structures and door frames. The frames for the outer walls were processed in the Duplex Route by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard and Poedercoating Heerhugowaard. The school is designed on open and transparent lines, with light classrooms and a range of learning plazas. The Trajectum College wants to be rooted in the local community. So the school houses a restaurant and a meeting centre that are open to the local people. Both facilities are managed by students from the school. The building also includes a crèche and an extra-curricular child care facility with internships for students. Duplex RouteBodu Staalbouw from Bunschoten-Spakenburg produced a range of steel structures for the new building. The steel support structures inside the building, the structures for the panels on the outer walls, and the window and door frames were hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard. The frames for the outer walls were processed in the Duplex Route, the total concept of galvanisation and powder coating provided by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard and Poedercoating Heerhugowaard, allowing the students and the local people to enjoy this multi-functional building together. |
